How much Total Eye® is the right amount to use?

It’s crucial to dispense and apply the correct amount of Total Eye®. Dispense half a pump onto the applicator tip, and dot around both eyes. This half pump covers the entire orbital region (from under the eye to the brow, including the eyelids) for both eyes, equaling ¼ pump per eye. Smooth the product using the applicator tip, then blend with your fingertips for a seamless finish. Applying more may cause the product to accumulate in fine lines or creases. Using the product only under the eye may require less.

What is the proper sequence for applying Total Eye® with other Colorescience® products?

Begin by applying All Calm™, Even Up®, or your preferred Skin Perfector to moisturize your skin lightly. Next, apply Total Eye® to ensure the brightening and color-correcting benefits. (Total Eye® also acts as a primer, so an additional eye primer isn’t necessary.) Follow with your Colorescience® foundation and enhancers, and finish with Sunforgettable Brush-on Sunscreen. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours for continuous sun protection.

How frequently should I use Total Eye®?

Apply Total Eye® twice daily to the entire orbital area, from under the eye to the brow, including the eyelids. You can also reapply to the under-eye area over makeup as a daily touch-up.

Can I wear Total Eye® overnight? Will the color transfer to my bedding? Apply Total Eye® to lightly moisturize your face at night, following normal application instructions. The treatment benefits are maximized if the product is worn twice daily, including overnight. While we do not guarantee the color will not transfer, none of our clinical study subjects reported any transfer at night.

How do I use the Total Eye® applicator?

Dispense half a pump of Total Eye® by gently pressing down on the pump’s base behind the applicator tip. The product will dispense into the applicator tip, which can be applied directly to the skin.

Is Total Eye® suitable for all skin tones?

Total Eye® is formulated for all skin tones and comes in four neutral shades – fair, medium (original), tan, and deep. The color is designed to neutralize most browns, blues, and some reds.

Can Total Eye® be used around the mouth or other facial areas?

Total Eye® is safe for use around the mouth or any part of the face. However, the ingredients were specifically chosen for optimal results in the eye area.

Does Total Eye® replace discontinued eye products like Eye Brightener, Eye Camouflage, and Pep Up Concentrate?

Though not a direct replacement, Total Eye® provides similar benefits to the discontinued products in an improved all-in-one formula.

Do I need another eye cream/treatment when using Total Eye®?

When should I apply Total Eye® with another eye cream/treatment? Total Eye® addresses visible signs of skin aging, including depuffing, hydration, correcting dark circles, fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet, and improving skin laxity, so another eye treatment is unnecessary. If using another eye product, apply Total Eye® after the other product for optimal brightening and dark circle correction.

Can Total Eye® serve as a primer for sun protection under my eye makeup?

Yes, Total Eye® preps the skin for smooth makeup application and can be worn as a primer.

Is Total Eye® a treatment product or a concealer? Do I need an additional concealer in addition to Total Eye®?

Total Eye® is a treatment product for the eye area. It comes in four neutral shades – fair, medium (original), tan, and deep – that provide immediate color correction for dark circles and brighten the eye area. The expertly blended shades are designed to neutralize most reds, blues, and browns around the eye. For some, this correction will be sufficient. For others needing more concealment, we recommend using our Mineral Corrector Palette SPF 20 after or on top of Total Eye®.

Why do I need SPF at night?

While SPF protection isn’t needed at night, Total Eye® offers additional long-term benefits such as depuffing, hydration, correcting dark circles, fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet, and improving skin laxity that is maximized if used twice daily. Colorescience® sunscreen is 100% mineral and free of chemical-active ingredients, making it safe for use while sleeping.

How soon can I expect to see results?

Total Eye® provides immediate brightening and color correction. As with other skincare products, results will vary.

Can I apply Total Eye® using a concealer brush?

Yes, but we recommend using the cooling applicator tip for optimal results, as it helps reduce puffiness.

How long does Total Eye® last?

Approximately 60 days with half a pump applied twice daily.

Can I refrigerate Total Eye®?

Yes. Our studies have shown that refrigeration does not affect product performance or SPF level. If using this in a business or practice, please follow standard safety practices and avoid placing Total Eye® in a refrigerator containing food.

How many pumps do I need for SPF 35 coverage?

Applying half a pump for both eyes ensures full SPF 35 coverage.

How long will Total Eye® brighten and correct dark circles?

We have not conducted formal wear/duration testing for this product. However, layering Total Eye® with other Colorescience® SPF products and complying with SPF reapplication every two hours may help extend the wear.

Is Total Eye® water- or sweat-proof?

Total Eye® is not water- or sweat-proof. Use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating.

Can I use Total Eye® instead of other topical treatments recommended by my dermatologist?

Follow your dermatologist or skincare specialist’s instructions for using Total Eye® with other topical treatments they recommend. Generally, Total Eye® is formulated to complement prescription or other topical treatments.

Will the product’s efficacy change if left in a hot vehicle?

No. However, the product may become more viscous if exposed to very high temperatures frequently or for long periods. Store at room temperature to preserve texture and viscosity.

Why does Total Eye® contain silicone?

Silicone can be occlusive. Colorescience® has researched the silicone used in our products, including Total Eye®. Our silicone is non-occlusive, allowing the skin to “breathe.”
